Courtesy of the Hull Labour Party, from the May 2008 elections. You can’t really argue with that headline can you?

Not surprising we won by a mile, really, is it?
And how sad am I that I had to go and google to find out the result?
Oh this is marvellous. He didn’t win then? I suppose it’s his fault for drawing attention to the Lib Dem’s favourite message, “it’s a two horse race!” and throwing reasonable doubt in people’s minds about whether or not he’s a horse.
I mean, no smoke without fire, right?
As Lance-Corporal Jones puts it, “They don’t like it up ‘em!”.
The Labour “union jack” leaflet in the recent LB Lewisham Downham ward by-election was only the latest in bizarre leaflets they’ve thrown at us there, they do get rattled very easily when we’ve won wards they think are naturally theirs.
Lesson from this is don’t let yourself get rattled, and if you are don’t show it in the stuff you put out to the punters. Revenge served cold (e.g. in the Focus you put out when they’ve gone away to wait for the next election) can work, but it must always be understated. Cllr Duwayne Brooks union jack tie at the count was a brilliant example of the subtle response to their idiocy.
Was that in response to an accusation levelled at him by an ex-girlfriend?
We haven’t got a mole writing the Labour leaflets in Hull have we? Did we follow it up by putting a leaflet out with a donkey on it?
I have a friend who has delivered so many Focuses that I often joke that the report of his funeral should say: “It’s a two horse hearse”
PS There is a joke in here somewhere about Caligula, but I can’t quite grasp it.
Yes….and the content of the leaflet was even better! And As for caligula, that is what some of the Labour group called their ex leader
Ass? or mule?
Maybe he has an abusive scot as his campaign manager?
I’ve seen:
“Labour Gives You Nothing”
This was a reference to a zero council tax rise. Doesn’t quite work though does it?
Chris. I’ve seen “Labour promises nothing” on a Labour leaflet. Was about council tax but didn’t go down very well as few people read below headlines.
