Top of the Blogs: The Golden Dozen #75

Welcome to the 75th of our weekly round-ups from the Lib Dem blogosphere, featuring the seven most popular stories according to click-throughs from the Aggregator (20-26th July), together with a hand-picked quintet you might otherwise have missed.

Let’s get straight down to it, in traditional descending order: (Lembit fans may care to avert their eyes).

1. Nick, time för a small reshuffle?
on Martin Land’s New Model Army blog.
Öuch.

2. The Lembit problem on Nich Starling’s Norfolk Blogger blog.
Is all publicity actually good publicity? Nich has his doubts.

3. More Lembit news from the Screws
on Femme de Resistance’s Forceful and Moderate blog.
You lot are obsessed.

4. Dark Deeds in Watford
on Jonathan Fryer’s blog.
I tend to the view put forward in a comment here on LDV by Sam: “Whoever is behind it I suspect it is more down to their flaws as an individual than whichever party they belong to.”

5. Iain WHO, dear? on Steph Ashley’s Dib Lemming blog.
An antidote to ‘blog-oguery’.

6. Watford update: Ian Oakley resigns as Conservative councillor on Lib Dem Voice.
* sub judice *

7. I get a mention in Total Politics on Anders Hanson’s blog.
And now a mention in the Golden Dozen. Which makes you most proud, Anders?

And now to the five slots we reserve under the category ‘well worth reading even if they didn’t get the most clicks this week’. Remember, if you do want to highlight a Lib Dem blog article published in the past seven days – your own, or someone else’s – all you have to do is drop me a line at (providing the web-link and author, and any tagline comment you care to have published).

8. Time for the Lib Dems to wake up and smell the coffee when it comes to Cameron’s Tories on Nich Starling’s Norfolk Blogger blog.
“The new strategy for the Lib Dems must be about winning seats off Labour.” Nick’s been listening to you, Nich…

9. That Nick Clegg – what a hoot! on Linda Jack’s Lindyloo’s Muze blog.
More fun, fewer frowns. It’s tough being leader, y’know.

10. House of Lords reform: a non-baron writes on Mark Valladares;’ Liberal Bureaucracy blog.
‘Lord’ Valladares fisks Labour’s latest Lords let-down.

11. Iain Dale, Liberal Conspiracy, a dodgy list by Wikio and, oh, my top 10 political blogs! on Jo Christie-Smith’s blog.
With a title like that, who can resist clicking on it?

12. Why Glasgow East matters on Bridget Fox’s blog.
“Losing Crewe was unfortunate; losing Glasgow East is carelessness. And to lose a safe Labour seat in Scotland is a personal humiliation for Gordon Brown.”

And that’s it for another week… happy blogging.

Two weeks in a row! I’m I becoming a hack? Help?

Aww…I was eagerly waiting for this to see if the article of mine with the highest hit rate since I began blogging would make it in this week – especially since it spawned two more articles as responses to responses that are the third and second fastest hit rates as well! Still, I suspect most Lib Dems don’t really want to hear its message – got a lot of coverage amongst Libertarians though…:)
