Andy Coulson gets new job at CCO

Andy Coulson’s* appointment as the new Conservative Director of Communications has spawned at least one amusing blog comment:

So what will happen to the Tories ? Will we now get screaming headlines, more best chested photos of the Tory frontbenchers and 2 part cd collections with every Tory leaflet.

and one insightful blog posting (which points out his annual salary is going to be around £400,000; I wonder how much of Cowley Street you could employ for that sum…!).

* If the name’s familiar, that’s because he is the ex-editor of the News of the World who quit after one of his staff was jailed for plotting to hack into phone messages.

  • Danger signal for Gordon Brown.

Have Dick Cheney and his friends told Murdoch to support Cameron?

Will Coulson be Murdoch’s (ie, Cheney’s) man in CCO?

Who will be running the Tory campaign? Who will be running the Tory Party? Who will be running… ?

    Or so the scenario goes.
