@Mike: Dear Mike, are you not intellectually capable of grasping the fact you have to submit your question to the website linked above, or are you just getting off on trolling this site so much you don't actually care?

When will the Liberals end this propping up a right wing reactionary Tory Government and return to the Liberal principles espoused by the the likes of Jo Grimond; the person who most influenced me to join the party in 1974? Also when will radicals like you stand up against the Orange book brigade currently in ascendency.

How are you intending to keep your LibDem identity? It seems to be eroding away by the weak.

Hannah,
Please don't feel confused - we are not in any way as members expected to support Tory policy. My personal view is that it is essential we maintain our distinctive Lib Dem VOICE (scuse pun!) so that people understand that voting for us is voting for Lib Dem policies. Anything less will truly destroy our party. Hope that helps :-)

Are you concerned that the Liberal Democrats have lost the identity and interest that the party built up before the election now that we are in a coalition with the Conservatives? Will the party do more to let the electorate know that what is happening in the coalition government isn't exactly how we would handle things if the Liberal Democrats were leading the country? The Liberal Democrats are loosing support from people who are now associating our party with Conservative policy- LibDem MPs aren't making it clear that we are supporting this because of the agreement and not because it is what we really want to do. I know the two parties need to put on a united front but it will prove very damaging to the party in the future. I think a lot of members are feeling confused about whether we are supposed to support and agree with Conservative policy that we see LibDem MPs supporting or whether we are supposed to oppose?

How has he been getting feedback, both good and bad, when he hasn't had chance to answer the questions yet? Odd. I'll refrain from leaving bad feedback until at least one answer is up (joking, I quite like Simon Hughes).

The prize for the oddest question goes to this one:

"Dear Simon, I am concerned about the lowering standard of erection of traffic lights and signage. It seems to me that hardly any are now put up square, using a level or plumb-line. It may seem petty, but the result is a disfigured street. Do you agree? It can't cost any more to put up ironwork properly as to botch it."
