I watched QT for the first time in ages last night. I stopped watching it because it was so annoying, a constant competition to see who can be the most inane between the audience, the panel and the ever irritating David Dimbleby. Well for once David and the audience weren't strong contenders.

I thought the SNP rep was everything I hate in modern politcians - smug and very safe. The rest of the panel (with the exception of the "celebrity" panelist) were total no-marks as well.

I watched it all but could feel my life ebbing away. When is the BBC going to do politics properly? Sack the Dimblebys, axe the swingometer and give us more local detail and how politics affects real lives.

Having said which, I thought much of what she said was pretty good, better than many of our better known figures. Whilst I agree it might have been better to have a more resoundingly Scottish person, I also would like to think the audience capable of looking past her accent.

Oh dear. The Beeb's peculiar attitude against the Lib Dems continues even when we have a (nominal) representative on QT.

Surely we must be able to get some sort of steer about who is the Lib Dem rep? Emma Nicholson is totally inappropriate for the audience and makes the Lib Dems look like we're importing spokespeople from south of the border - like the Tories have to do because of their lack of talent in Scotland.
