Councillor used pseudonym to praise own work

The headline on The Independent‘s story about Labour councillor Ben Grower in Bournemouth is fairly self-explanatory. More details over on their site. Ben Grower is, though, a mere amateur comapred with the former Labour leader of Swansea council, Lawrence Bailey, who managed 253 fake letters just over a year ago.

Be fair. If you were called Ben Grower, wouldn’t you use a pseudonym?

This kind of behaviour makes Jacqui Smith getting her husband and friends to write letters to local newspapers telling us how wonderful she is look positively amateurish.

Er, a production by an amateur dramatics society in which the male lead’s beard keeps falling off and the female lead can’t remember any of her lines would make Jacqui Smith’s letter writing campaigns look positively amateurish. :)

I’ve found bloglines pretty ropey for the last couple of days, so I think it may be an issue with them rather than with this particular feed.
