Four more years – thank you

Thank you to everyone who joined in our live blog/tweet following the exciting results from across the Atlantic tonight. Many thanks to everyone who used the hashtag #LDVUSA to join in!

It was a great night – to see all the potential Romney paths to victory disintegrating one by one and a EV total of 332 looking on the cards for Obama!

Analysis and post-mortems can wait for another day. For now, it’s celebration time! WoooooHoooooo!

  • And after all that flim-flam from the Republicans about the polls being wrong, it turns out that the only way in which they were wrong was that (in the swing states) they generally underestimated Obama’s lead.

@Chris – just as they tended to in 2008 and the 2010 senate races.

  • Good news for the LibDs!
The Republican Party tried to pin the blame for the recession that they generated onto the guy trying to put it right, and the Republicans failed.
A good precedent for the 2015 election.

The media and their corporate friends, in the US and the UK seem unable to comprehend that the Republicans actually lost. I lost count today of the number of interviews with sour faced losers. The networks didn’t seem too keen to give jubilant Democrats much air time.

    Rich people are bad losers.

  • ‘the polls being wrong’.. most polls are, because the questions are generally loaded and the results are employed to show a result that will satisfy the ‘interest’ paying for it, (or am I being cynical?).. They hope for a self-fulfilling prophesy… but oh for the millions to spend on publicity!
