It read to me like he was saying, "I am a serious journalist and I want evidence (now) before publishing things". Seems he wouldn't listen to me. I feel a bit sorry for Iain as he's better than that and Shapps looked like a rabbit in headlamps. Totally out of his depth and a bit desperate I thought when I saw him at the Ealing count on Sky News trying to spin it to save his life (I was in Kosovo at the time and BBC World weren't running the story).
