How well are the Conservatives doing online?

Written by Mark Pack on 4th April 2008 – 2:05 pm

If you’re a keen reader of political blogs you’ve probably noticed the latest bun fight over traffic levels to sites such Iain Dale and Guido Fawkes. One bright spot in amongst the postings and comments of, err…, varying quality on this topic is this one from Ministry for Truth, which casts its eye more widely over the Conservative online presence. It’s not a successful picture that is painted.

Unity is a top blogger - one of the few who actually puts the effort in to collect the evidence to support his argument, and go into (a lot of!) depth on the issues. Never mind those rightwing cretins, people should be busy reading Ministry of Truth.

I second sanbikinoraion’s post, Ministry Of Truth is an excellent blog.

I wouldn’t want to say who is doing best online, because I have no data or information. All I can say is that the vast majority of LD sites around the country are consistent, well designed and actually exist. My local conservative association website (Huntingdon) hasn’t worked for more than a year. Other Tory sites seem to be a hotch-potch of Trees, Torches and that which should have been torched.
If the future of the Tory Party is on the Web, then it’s pretty easy to guess what it’s future is!
