		<description>Anders: I agree regional variation wouldn&#039;t be perfect match for varying property prices, but I fear any attempt to go beyond that would end up with a system which is too complicated. Regional variation would be simple whilst dealing with the worst problems.</description>

		<description>Whether MPs profit is a secondary matter.  If it is a choice between expensive rented accomodation and cheaper mortgage payments, then I cannot see why we need to go for the expensive option.  House prices can go down as well as up</description>

		<description>I should perhaps read this report and respond as so far I&#039;ve only seen your post.  However, whilst I agree with your comment about office costs, regional variation still doesn&#039;t solve the problem.  For example, the cost of hiring an office in Sheffield Hallam is likely to be significantly more than the cost of hiring an office in say Dewsbury.  Not only because of variations in property values, but also because some areas have more office accommodation available than others.  Obviously even within one city things vary a lot and so maybe there needs to be some other way of determining the amount of rent they can pay.</description>
