Standing in elections is his hobby which he indulges when he's not driving busses and he says he spent £7,000 on his euro campaign (which he partly funded through a £5,000 loan). I should also mention that Jean-Louis told me his boss, who happens to be the the deputy leader of the ruling Labour group in Reading, gave him the inspiration to take up politics as a hobby and regularly gives him advice on tactics (such as where to stand).
