IMHO either the Electoral Commision should have to go through these submissions and identify people donating to more than one consituency and to report the total amount they donated or parties should have to do so. That way we at least have transparency over how much money idividuals have donated so if Ashcroft or someone else donated £4m to a political party but also gave £2m (random figure) to local parties as well then we should know that they have in fact given £6m.

The other option which I favour is to ban donations from people not resident in the consituency. Why should people be able to make donations to help elect the representative of other people?
