As well as, but not instead of, can't use JS on all blogging platforms, and a chunk of browsers block it as well, so you'd want a NOSCRIPT gif version as well I'd have thought.

Would it be possible to have this sort of thing not as an animated gif but as bit of Java/HTML that resizes with web page layout?

Concur with Duncan, having the code as a copy/paste textarea for the above banner available, probably on the <a href="http://www.brianpaddick.org/help-brian-win" rel="nofollow">help Brian win</a> page, would be good.

Also a smaller one same size as the standard LD ones in the JS would be nice, will fit in my sidebar nicely.

Misquoting your opponent is not a good way to start. Ken Livingstone did not "say he can't do anything about gun and knife crime" (I note no citation is given). The murder rate has fallen during his Mayoralty.

Presumably this statement is intended to refer to his statement in the London Talking debate, which was "No mayor, no commissioner of police, can stop young people killing each other if they haven't been given a moral code." If you want to endorse that statement, then you have to accept all parts of it.

Interesting that Brian Paddick pledges to cut crime by 20% during his term. At present under Ken the crime rate is falling at 5-6% per year so that would make more than 20% over a four-year term even without any change in policy.

I recall that some Tory claimed somewhere, that David Cameron's Conservative Party is in essence "Liberal Democrats for adults". I wonder how this is compatible with the choices for London Mayor candidates of the two parties.

How about slogans such as "Get serious, vote for Paddick."
