I totally agree with Mr Courtenage. Also, given that poor housing is a big vote-earner for the BNP it is the right thing to address days after two of them became MEPs.

I thought Nick was very good today - it was a good focussed question that showed up Labour's real failings - that they have not tackled poverty, in fact, quite the reverse. Pity he only gets two questions, so can't tackle Brown's evasion, while Cameron gets 6 and uses them mostly for cheap jibes.

Gordon Brown...
1) commits to finish Lords reform.
2) "personally favours a written constitution"!
3) is considering further devolution, including in England to local government
4) only wants electoral reform if there is a public consensus. "The link between the MP and the constituency is essential..."
5) wants to increase the engagement of young people in politics, perhaps by lowering the voting age.

Today’s questions would have been well used driving some wedges into the other two party’s positions on electoral reform.

I suspect Mr Clegg was doing the decent thing and waiting for the PM's statement, unlike Mr Cameron. I'm watching it now: http://www.parliamentlive.tv/Main/Player.aspx?meetingId=4155
