Monty Python's Oliver Cromwell song helped me towards getting the best General Studies A-Level mark in my school the year I took it, so I vote for that.

They will be interested, but the problem is giving undue prominence to issues which most people (whether we like it or not) don't rate as important in deciding how they vote in a survey about deciding how to vote.

The English Demotwats are such morlocks, it's amazing. In a video which is supposed to be campaigning for the Crewe & Nantwich seat, they don't deign to mention their candidate, or any virtues he may posess (presumably none).

Even the kind of Mail-reading lowlife who would take this seriously want some actual policies. What do the EDs think about local issues, what actual policies do they have beyond bashing Scotland and Europe and making sub-BNP appeals for "English kiddies"?

Surely the experiences of Vague and Coward proves that jingoism doesn't win elections, because even jingoes want decent policies as well as nationalism.

Having said that, I'm more worried about the Scottophobia rampant in the Tory party, which Camoron with his usual weakness doesn't dare to stamp on.

Was the playing of a song by The Proclaimers in the English Democrats' campaign video a subtle and ironic comment on their hatred of the Scots, or just a colossal idiocy on their part?

I'd really like to believe that they're self-deprecating, witty people, but considering the best they could do was to basically call every major politician they could think of the kind of names that wouldn't go amiss in a school playground, i'm inclined to believe the latter..
