I can’t speak for anyone else, but I didn’t vote for anyone mentioning their alignment or non-alignment. I think that comes straight from Mrs Dale.

I was totally surprised and a little embarrassed to appear in this list at all, let alone at 56th – as my blog appears (correctly) in the Total Politics list a ‘non-aligned’. Presumably those who voted for it thought it must be a Lib Dem blog because they knew of my involvement as speech advisor/writer/coach to Paddy Ashdown and think (wrongly) that I’ve carried on in a similar capacity with all the leaders since then – for more on which, see http://bit.ly/yKjr8 Nonetheless, I’d like to thank all those who did take the trouble to vote it into such a lofty position, and hope they will encourage others, regardless of their politics, to visit it from time to time.

@burkesworks in the first blog listing from Dale I noticed he had made the mistake of putting LibDemBlogs in the list. I assumed they had finally realised that it’s not a blog and weren’t including it anymore, and only after reading your comment did I discover that the site is back in the list this year.

Come to think of it, the aggregator comes in at no 28 – and while it’s an essential tool to have, it’s not a blog. In addition, The Esteemed Dr Pack and his dog are both listed separately at 36 and 37 despite sharing the same domain, while the entry at 69 appears to be from SWINTON, not Swindon – but what’s a couple of hundred miles to the Westminster gossip blog bubble anyway?

Query – are Freedom and Whisky at no 27 and Max Atkinson at no 56 Lib Dem blogs? The former is a libertarian who doesn’t mention any party affiliation on his blog, while the latter describes himself as non-aligned and not a member of any political party, though he used to be a speechwriter for Paddy Ashdown.

Anyway. I’ve voted LibDem a few times (2005, for instance) but I am not a member of any political party nor do I fancy being one in the near future. Out of the three main parties I’d still vote LD, but with no enthusiasm.

That’s what I thought; pretty sure Claude would be either “non-aligned” or “left-wing” for these purposes, though I’d be delighted if he were on board. I did vote for him, mind; in fact there were probably as many “non-aligned” blogs as LibDem ones in my final ten.

Since when is Claude ~~Bottom~~ Carpentieri (Hagley Road to Ladywood) a Lib Dem?

Also, please to be improving your accessibility by not hardcoding text colours? Or at least you could hardcode the background AS WELL AS if you are going to hardcode the text. I can’t read what I am typing or any of the buttons because you have hardcoded the text to black, and my theme is black, and black on black is… well, difficult….
