All the stats are collected via MyBlogLog.

Each week Stephen (or this week myself) will look at the top 50 clicks. We then take the top 7 blog posts, plus the other 5 and this creates the Golden Dozen.

On the 1st August I then logged into the MyBlogLog stat system and asked it for the top 500 clicks for the last 12 months. I then spent over an hour filtering out the clicks that didn’t go to a blog post directly and provided Stephen with a list of the 100 most clicked on posts.

Stephen then wrote the articles for them last week and has them set up to appear throughout the week in stages.

As Mark Valladares pointed out, it could be possible that a post which was ranked 8th one week and never appeared in a Golden Dozen, could end up in the top 100 (or even top 10) if it was a busy blogging week, or if it was posted on a Saturday it will have been spread across two weeks of counting and might miss both dozens.

I was, initially, simply trying to be helpful, as your question seemed not to have been answered. Your response seemed, to me at least, to be dripping with sarcasm.

So, instead of attacking you, I decided upon humour, albeit slightly mocking. It did distract attention from the earlier part of the thread…

Fair enough, it’s a conspiracy, and Stephen Tall is the true LibDem Svengali. Alix and Ryan, you are faithful acolytes of the all powerful one and will doubtless be rewarded later for your wicked and licentious reasonableness.

I’ve locked and bolted all of the doors of my house, stocked up with enough food to last me and the cats for a month or so and I’m not coming out until I know that it’s safe, that the powers of good have triumphed over the forces of Lib Dem Voice, and that James Graham has become President of the People’s Democratic Republic of England…

Still, Mark’s right in that the Golden Ton isn’t necessarily a compilation of all the Golden Dozens, although the correlation will be high. There’ll be slow-burners in the Ton which weren’t the top posts in their week, but which did get a lot of clicks over time, and vice versa the Ton won’t include some posts which got into the top seven in their week but weren’t much clicked after that.

I stand corrected.

Indeed, if your entry straddled two weeks of the Golden Dozen, it might have been just short in consecutive weeks.

Of course, I don’t know this for a fact, as I don’t have access to all of the data (and don’t want it either!).

Finally, I actually think that, in a contrary sort of way, this actually helps to promote more thought in terms of nominations for the awards to come. I have been reminded of some very good postings, and look forward to seeing what else appears in the coming days…

I didn’t delete it my end as it had thoroughly upset so many people and I didn’t want to seem like a coward. However, I didn’t want to feature in a list…quite reasonable I feel,…

a) Why don’t you delete it your end; and
b) Why are you spending so much time and energy promoting it? I’d have never thought to click on it if it wasn’t for this thread.
