Welsh Lib Dem council leaders oppose LD participation in assembly coalition

I was a touch surprised to hear on BBC radio this morning that parties in Scotland were negotiating the future government of their nation… with no mention of Wales, where the same process is going on.

The leaders of the Lib Dem controlled councils in Wales are expressing grave doubts about propping up Labour in Wales:

Welsh Labour leader Rhodri Morgan could ask the Lib Dems to share power after his party fell short of a majority.

But Lib Dem leaders of four Welsh councils say they are all against it, amid doubts raised over the assembly group leadership of Mike German.

    Electorally, it hasn’t done us much good in Scotland. Why should we prop up Rhodri Morgan in Wales?
