It’ll always surprise some people that our voters aren’t all rabid Guardian/Indie reading liberals.

    As a rabid Guardian/Indie reading liberal myself I know I’m a little surprised… ;-)

I personally don’t read any daily newspaper regularly. I get my news from the radio, the web and The Economist. The amount of unnecessary stuff in all the dailies gets on my nerves.

    And what is The Record?

It would be interesting to see which papers Lib Dem members read.

So is the single newspaper read by the most Lib Dem voters still the Mail?

Niklas – The Record is a Scottish newspaper, probably most similar to the Mail?

I mean Record similar to the Mirror, not the Mail. Luckily.

@Chris Keating: Phew! It’s bad enough that the Daily Telegraph is virtually indistinguishable from the Daily Mail…

The Guardian can be very silly and wishy washy but still good reading!

Are we confusing social democrats with liberals here? Liberals aren’t necessarily lefties. The Toynbee creature for instance, I would think of as the antithesis to a liberal.

Worth acting on (following Cable once again). The 15% other is high; Clegg’s attention to the local press looks judicious. Possible LibDem voters probably read the same papers as actual LibDem supporters.

A propos, any data on what TV shows LibDem voters watch and/or radio shows they listen to?

Since the advent of instantaneous news on radio and television newspapers have increasingly evolved into viewspapers. I stopped buying newspapers many years ago and believe many only continue to do so out of habit.
