Lib Dems: Disgraced Brexit Party founder backing Johnson shows how far the Tories have sunk

Responding to the news that Catherine Blaiklock, the disgraced Brexit Party founder who quit over her Islamophobic public statements, is backing Boris Johnson, Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader Ed Davey said:

Catherine Blaiklock joins a long list of unsavoury characters, including Tommy Robinson, who are now backing Boris Johnson.

The fact that Sir John Major, Michael Heseltine and others are urging voters to keep the Tories out of power shows quite how far this Conservative Party has sunk.

Thursday is the last chance to stop Boris Johnson, stop Brexit and build a brighter future by voting Liberal Democrat.

Welsh Lib Dems: We can secure a brighter future for Wales

The Welsh Liberal Democrats are using the final moments of the of the general election campaign to urge the people of Wales to stop Boris Johnson and to vote for a brighter future for Wales.

The polls suggest this is going to be a very close election. Only a small swing could be the difference between a Boris Johnson victory leading to a hard Brexit and a hung parliament that can secure a People’s Vote.

In many areas across Wales and the UK, the Liberal Democrats are the only party that can stop Boris Johnson.

Welsh Liberal Democrat Leader Jane Dodds said:

Use your vote to stop Boris Johnson, stop Brexit and build a brighter future. Vote for the Welsh Liberal Democrats.

If Boris Johnson wins, you lose. His destructive Brexit plan will damage our country and must be stopped. This Thursday is your chance to stop Brexit and stop Boris Johnson – don’t lose it.

Boris Johnson cares more about himself than the future of our country and he cannot be trusted. He has lied to parliament, lied to the Queen and he is lying to you.

For too long our politics has been defined by division, dishonesty and intolerance. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We can build a brighter future. We can tackle the climate emergency, give every child the best start in life and transform mental healthcare.

Lib Dems: Barnier’s comments show Johnson’s campaign slogan is just another Tory fib

Responding to leaked comments by Michel Barnier that Brexit won’t be ‘done’ in 11 months, Liberal Democrat shadow Brexit secretary Tom Brake said:

Michel Barnier’s comments are further proof that Boris Johnson’s key campaign slogan is just another Tory fib. Just like his claim that there’ll be no checks on goods to Northern Ireland and his lies to the Queen, Johnson can’t help but mislead the British public.

His reckless Brexit approach will send the country careering off the no-deal cliff next year.

Voting Liberal Democrat tomorrow is your chance to stop Boris Johnson, stop Brexit and build a brighter future within the EU.
