Marcus Agius is to resign as the chairman of Barclays, the BBC has learned.
There will be an announcement on Monday morning, BBC business editor Robert Peston says.

Doesn’t go anywhere near far enough. Diamond should go too and the whole thing broken up. http://livingonwords.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/barclays-cheating-shows-need-to-disband.html
Sacrificial lamb?
Diamond shouldn’t resign. He should be sacked.
Many of the City of London bankers, analysts, economic experts etc etc, interviewed in the media seem to have American accents. Could this be the root of the problem??
Insufficient. This would be rather like the Queen abdicating because Britain went into the Iraq War; Agius was chairman, but he was hardly the man running the show.
