Elizabeth Evans selected for Ceredigion

Mark Cole reports:

Ceredigion Liberal Democrats [have chosen] our new candidate for the Welsh Assembly election next May.

I’m absolutely delighted to report that that candidate will be Cllr Elizabeth Evans from Aberaeron, Or as she is more commonly known, Liz.

I’ve known Liz for 7 or so years and have found her to be one of the friendliest, most genuine and hard-working people I know – and she’s a liberal to the core…

She is a popular, well liked and hard-working local campaigner and community activist. She’s a former recipient of the prestigious Welsh European of the year award for her long service as chair of the Aberystwyth-St Brieuc Twinning Committee and spent her formative years in the retail industry and as a self-employed businesswoman.

Best of luck Liz.

Liz is an excellent choice to fight for Ceredigion. Good luck!

I’d just like to say that I will be voting for Liz Evans and it’s mainly because she is against the stubborn decision of Elin Jones to cull the Badgers. We need some fresh new perspective and I think Liz will bring that in. Good Luck.

Was looking forward to hearing all the candidates at the meeting at Aberaeron Rugby Club earlier this week – was not sure how to vote and had not heard Elizabeth Evans before- although i voted Lib Dem last election i was let down by Elizabeth’s lack of knowledge with regards to rural issues in particular farming issues- many felt the same – not voting Lib dems this time and will support Elin Jones who has been a hardworking AM and a local girl that’s done very well and has shown some guts in dealing with the TB issue in cattle when she could have left it until after the election- she was the best candidate by far that night. Hope Lib Dems get a better candidate next time.
