Football fan? Lib Dem? Then why not join LDV’s Fantasy Football League?

My co-editor Caron Lindsay isn’t, it turns out, a big fan of football. But I am — that’s me there, aged about 8 — and there are a few other Lib Dems who are too.

The new season properly kicks off in a fortnight’s time, 16th August. So if you fancy pitting your skills selecting the most successful team of players from the English Premier League against the skills of fellow party supporters here’s what you need to do:

1. Click here: http://fantasy.premierleague.com/
2. Register your details
3. Select your team – use your budget of £100m to pick a squad of 15 players – and design your kit
4. Join the Lib Dem Voice Fantasy Football League by typing this code 604857-152744 into the relevant box.

There may even be some kind of prize — if, that is, you’re able to overlook a first-past-the-post winner on this occasion. Incidentally, by the time the season finishes, 24 May 2015, so will this five-year fixed-term Parliament.

That really is a lovely photo. To think that that innocent Toffees-supporting little lad grew up to know all about sophomores, Oxford commas and Who’s Who entries…..

Ed Stewart supports Everton. I know that much. I grew up hearing him being excited about their next match on “Junior Choice”.
