The European Investment Bank has put over £2.9 billion into British hospitals. A valuable resource we lose if we go ahead with this madness.

This one point of the funding for this hospital that she appeared in SHOULD BE WIDELY DISTRIBUTED
Surely this is classed as some of the money we get back from the EU so we are really funding it ourselves plus a bureaucratic overhead to pay for for the EU civil servants?
Generally I don’t think EU funds should be being used for member states’ healthcare systems. I guess with the exception of a Research & Development remit and maybe ad hoc public health issues. But a member state’s healthcare system should for the main be the concern (and therefore financial responsibility) of the member state alone
And there is a half completed hospital down the road in central Liverpool. There are major efforts being made to find a way to get it finished after the collapse of the builder. Is it not time to face reality and add the U.K. to lists of E.U. problem countries?
In response to William Fowler, I think there is a bit of misunderstanding about the European Investment Bank. It is true that the EIB is publicly owned, but the Bank borrows money on capital markets and then lends it on favourable terms to projects that support EU objectives. (and it is due to its immense size that it can secure low long term interest rates for its own borrowing – thus enabling it to then lend at such low interest rates for infrastructure projects.)
At present about 90% of loans are made within the EU. None of the money comes from the EU budget.
I hope these links are useful in terms of further information about the EIB.
It really is the case that Brexit will lead to far higher lending costs for major infrastructure projects in UK.
