On Thursday Nick Clegg and Chris Huhne took part in a webcast hustings, run in conjunction with the University of Westminster. They spent 45 minutes answering questions emailed in by party members from around the country.

I agree with Nick that the party’s press & campaigns operations need to work more closely together – they’re both excellent departments, but could achieve more if they worked together more closely. I was interested to see Chris refer to blogs, and the emerging media landscape. Still undecided, but will watch the ‘heavier’ segments in the morning!
Every time I see the two of them I am struck by their different body language. I like the way Chris actually looks like he’s listening to Nick, and nods when he makes a good point, and often refers to what he says in his subsequent answer. He’s done this throughout – it’s not just post the Politics Show bust-up. I wonder why empathy-Nick doesn’t do this?
The quiet men have turned up the volume! 🙂
