The local Guardian newspaper has the full story of an anoymous dirty tricks campaign targeting the Lib Dems:
A BY-ELECTION campaign has taken a disturbing twist with a sinister leaflet claiming Liberal Democrats want to legalise paedophilia being pushed through voters’ doors. The alarming development threatens to mar the Hale End & Highams Park poll, which is expected to be a close race between the Lib Dems and Conservatives.
The leaflets, which have been delivered to homes across the ward including homes in Beacontree Avenue, Hill Crest Road and Beech Hall, contain a message claiming to be written by disgraced former pop star Gary Glitter. The ’70s glam rocker was convicted of paedophilia in Cambodia.
Flanked by black and white images of bogeyman Freddy Krueger and children, the pamphlet says: “Only the Liberal Democrats have the integrity and courage to campaign against the fascist so-called Age of Consent laws, which deny our youngsters the right to enjoy physical acts of love with an enthusiastic adult like myself.”
The leaflet goes on to list Lib Dem politicians across the country who have allegedly been convicted of sex offences and features a manipulated picture of Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg, with a caption reading, “He’s the leader of the gang!”

I think that’s the wrong link…
This one seems more appropriate.
Thanks, Andrew, corrected. (The link was a pop-up advert from the site).
Yeah, of course Stephen…
What you get up to in your own time is no business of mine… 🙂
The Waltham Guardian is also reporting this might be linked to the BNP.
Of course it’s linked to the BNP!
Even the TORIES wouldn’t post that through letterboxes!
At this time? They wouldn’t really be that stupid, would they?
*scurries off to search membership list*
Huw, ever see what the Tory PPC in Watford put through letterboxes?
Does it bear any similarity to this “anti-Lib Dem leaflet”

Ah – I should read things a bit more clearly 🙂 Apparently it does
The FOUNDER of the British Nazi Party (BNP) was the late John Tyndall, whose published statements include the following:-
“Mein Kampf is my doctrine.”
“The Jew is like a poisonous insect eating into a society in an advanced state of decay.”
In the early 1960’s, Tyndall was a member of Colin Jordan’s short-lived National Socialist Movement, whose preamble included the words: “Only those who accept the spiritual leadership of Adolf Hitler will be admitted to our movement.”
When Tyndall visited Germany for the first time, no sooner had he crossed the border than he went into a shoe shop and purchased a pair of jackboots.
Nick Griffin is Tyndall’s protégé.
“Nick Griffin is Tyndall’s protégé.”
Think that’s stretching it a bit! Griffin became leader after beating Tyndall in an election and threw Tyndall out twice. The rebel faction in the BNP probably behind the membership list leak seem to be Tyndallists.
Griffin and Tyndall have a lot in common but fraternal comrades in the struggle they are not.

The comment about rent boys is somewhat ironic when one considers that one of John Tyndall’s close associates was the notorious paedophile, Mr Roger Paul Augustine Gleaves, the self-styled “Bishop of Medway”, who ran a network of bogus childrens’ homes that were centres of male prostitution and has served prison terms for sexually abusing teenage boys. Gleaves tried to set up a fascist political party, but gave up and handed his membership list to Colin Jordan (Tyndall’s boss).
I guess the “predatory middle-aged man” they are talking about is Mr Martin Webster, who claims to have had an affair with Griffin, and whom Griffin accuses of groping young male volunteers at the National Front Headquarters in Shoreditch. (Griffin says he didn’t like Webster kissing him on the cheek.)
Sesenco’s knowledge of 60s – 80s sex and corruption scandals in other parties seems limitless!
What is it with Waltham Forest and paedo-smears? It’s only a couple of years on from the Miranda Grell affair.
Still it shows just how much in common the left of Labour and the BNP have when it comes to election tactics. Hate campaigners all of them.
