According to digital spy, Lib Dem MP Lembit Öpik has welcomed twin sisters Gabriela and Monica Irmia (aka the Cheeky Girls) into his Montgomeryshire cottage:
The politician was thrilled when fiancée Gabriela agreed to move in to his country cottage in Montgomeryshire, Wales. However, her mother Margit became concerned that Gabriela’s sister Monica would be lonely without her – so Lembit has now decorated the spare room so that both Cheeky Girls can stay with him.
Apparently the spare room is decorated in Monica’s favourite colours. All together now: aaahh.

Is there any reason why this is on here? I am just curious as to whether this is an editorial decision on the part of LDV to start publicising details of MPs personal lives? Surely this is outside the purpose of LDV.
LDV sometimes covers public domain titbits like this (has done since it started). So long as there’s plenty of meaty policy stuff as well, I think it adds variety to the blog.
Though I’m not entirely sure the publicising of Lembit’s personal life can be solely ascribed to LDV.
Quite. I think Hello magazine has done their fair share of the work. But surely having the two twins together is a calamitous idea. You just know there’s going to be a mix up.
I have a worry that he will try to squeeze the third party.
Just so long as he doesn’t end up having to stand as an independent and losing his deposit…
. . . I’m sure he’ll measure up in the end.
I think Hello magazine has done their fair share of the work.
And, um, Lembit himself of course.
*refuses to make up silly innuendos, that would be wrong*
