LDVideo: Clegg takes to his soapbox on Lords reform

To mark yesterday’s publication of the House of Lords Reform Bill, Nick Clegg delivered a “soapbox” speech in Victoria Tower Gardens, behind the Palace of Westminster, to urge legislators to get on and pass the Bill, which, he says “comes down to a very simple principle: democracy”. Here’s the video:

    I think your objection is more that you think his vision of the NHS is different to yours, rather than any perceived lack of passion on his part. For example, me wanting to reform how we elect Councillors doesn’t make me less passionate about voting.

    Ah, it looks like I should have refreshed before posting. On topic… I share George’s view that some communication to nearby members could have rustled up a larger audience.

  • ………………..It’s a shame that no one bothered to send out an email to Lib Dem members in advance so that those who wished to do so could turn up to listen to the speech……………

    Or that others could avoid the area.
