So the first chart announcement since Love is Enough, the song by young carers featuring Ed Davey was released is out. It would melt even the most permafrosted heart.
And they’re at……
Number 6!
Which isn’t bad for a day’s sales.
As we said before, it is pretty decent. But when you’ve got the person who produced Cher’s Believe running the show, then you’re probably on to a winner.
Ed was pretty chuffed with this news, paying tribute to the young carers who wrote and performed the song.
It is truly heartwarming to see that this song is already resonating with people across the country and is surging up the charts. All the credit must go to the amazing young carers at Bath Phil. The optimism and joy which they bring to this song is genuinely beautiful.
I know from my experience as a young carer just how challenging times can be and to see this group come together like this and produce something so powerful should inspire us all.
Carers and the vital work that they do are far too often forgotten, so this Christmas let us show that we are thinking of them and supporting them through what has been an incredibly tough time for them all.
We Lib Dems have our work cut out for us to get all 3.5 million people who voted for us, and more, to snap up this song before Christmas. We should not be satisfied with number 6.
You can download the single on various platforms. It is only 99p so you could just buy it on all of them between now and Christmas.
All the proceeds go to two brilliant organisations, Bath Philarmonia and Carers’ Trust.
Bath Philharmonia
Bath Philharmonia is a professional orchestra, based in Bath and touring South West England and the only orchestra in the UK to offer a year round programme of creative music workshops for Young Carers. The orchestra reaches over 15,000 people each year through a combination of concerts and projects in communities, with a specialism in working with Young Carers to help them build personal confidence and supportive relationships through creating and performing their own music. www.bathphil.co.uk.
Carers Trust
If you are a young carer and need support, or if you know someone who is a young carer and needs support, please visit www.carers.org, and enter your postcode in the Get Support search engine to find support in your area.
So what have you done to day to promote this single? Please feel free to be as silly as you like. Most publicity is good publicity…

Is there a Polling Day operation for this campaign? How do we get out the vote at the right time? I confess I’ve got no idea how the Charts are calculated these days, so how do we make sure we don’t peak too soon?
“And in our world of plenty, we can spread a smile of jo-oy-oy. Throw your arms around a Liberal Democrat at CHRISTMAS TIME!!!!”
The attitude towards disability needs to change. Autism is demanding on parents and families. As with other mental health issues.
I find it incredible the giving by young carers.
