Nick Clegg live Q & A at 7pm tonight

Nick Clegg answers live questions on the interweb thingy tonight at 7pm. That’s in just 45 minutes’ time. A group of young people will be asking him about the issues that they care about.

Watch here:

It’s part of the Leaders’ Live initiative with Bite the Ballot and ITV News. Enjoy.

It looked like a good interview, but the party needs radical change. I like Clegg, so it is really nothing personal, but I think the party needs a new leader. Party of it is I think the public simply want some accountability for previous mistakes.

    Regards

  • It’s telling that so few people have even bothered to comment on this.
Maybe they were all busy tweeting for the ‘opinion poll’ [as Clegg calls it] that Caron uses in a later piece.

Most recent YouGov poll has Lib Dems on 2% for 18-24 year olds.

  • Both can be true. A low poll rating but Nick wins people over when they get to see him “as is” rather than the media presentation.

I do have an optimistic theory that the 2015 debates will give the party a boost as people see the “real Nick” in debates and realise he’s not as bad as presented. I wil concede this theory took a bit of a knock after the Euro debates though…..

Hywel, that theory took a bit of a knock in April 2010. When Cleg went from ‘hero to zero’ between the first leaders’ debate and the third leaders’ debate where he waffled on immigration instead of taking a principled Liberal stance.

Do not forget that at the 2010 general election we LOST seats. We ended up with only 57 MPs.
The spectacular decline in support once the voters “got to know the real Nick” is a matter of record.
People unfortunately forgot that before the May 2014 debacle against Farage, so we had to learn it all over again.

The reality is that Russell Brand was better at dealing with Farage on TV than the real Nick.
I say that as someone who prefers Jo Brand to Russell Brand.

I do not think the 11 lost deposits at by-elections results from people being unaware of the real Nick.

LIVE? After his silence on and in the Clacton by-election, I thought he must have secretly died.
