Tales from the doorstep

Some of us have received an email from HQ asking us for 30 second videos describing our funniest canvassing story.  It included links to some ‘Here is one I made earlier’ videos and this is our favourite so far:

You only need a mobile phone so I’m sure you can do better. If you have a story to tell, send your videos to Al Ghaff on [email protected].

  • Is it just me, but what did the lady say?

  • Chris Holman 15th Apr '15 - 4:05pm

The best, or at least funniest, response I ever got was in 2010.

Rugby had Council Elections on the same day as the GE. In the ward I was canvassing we were concentrating on defending the council seat as there was no chance in the GE.

I was canvassing a lady I had spoken to many times before, extolling the merits of our candidate, who was new.

Having gone through the council bit and she confirmed she would be voting for us I asked, “And what about the general?

To which the reply was, “I don’t know how he votes.”
