The original plan was that our esteemed panel of judges would judge some of the Liberal Democrat Voice Awards and our Members’ Forum would choose all the rest. We then decided that we wanted our readers to have a say on some of them as well, though. So, here is the shortlist for the Online Campaign of the Year (not Liberal Democrat). And further down there’s a nifty poll thingy, where you can make your choices.
The shortlist is:
Equal Marriage campaign (Scotland)
Out4Marriage incorporating Lobby a Lord
Stella Creasy’s #sharkstoppers
Make sure you cast your vote by noon on Friday.

Suspect this will be the only time in my life I’ll be encouraging people to vote EDL
Is there an obsession here with one particular issue?
Or are other campaigns on line just inferior?
Tony Greaves
Delighted to see that PricedOut has been shortlisted!
@ Jennie
I’d not heard of English Disco Lovers until today. Just been on their site and will certainly be giving them a decent preference. “Don’t hate, gyrate!”
@ Tony Greaves
Did you nominate any campaigns for the shortlist which didn’t get listed? If so, please tell us and we can discuss their merits over those listed.

“Is there an obsession here with one particular issue?” Looks like it. Obsessed with matters of a sexual nature. The irony.
@ Helen Tedcatle,
To be fair Helen, to say that those campaigns were “Obsessed with matters of a sexual nature” is to miss the point of them entirely and reduce them to a base level when, for those concerned, it was a matter in which sex played no part and struck the very core of their political and societal beliefs.
Even as someone who passioantely supported SSM I agree with the implication of what Tony says in that it is a shame that other worthy campaigns didn’t make the shortlist, but as Richard rightly infers if they weren’t nominated in high enough numbers then that is what happens. What it does show though is the strength of feeling many of us felt about SSM.
*@Helen Tadcastle – apologies for the typo Helen!

A fair comment although my point was more directed at the list of nominations above than SSM as such.
Ironic , because often Churches are attacked by opponents and indeed some within the Churches themselves for being too obsessed with personal matters related to sex and relationships.
Looks like they’re not the only ones but equally, it highlights how important the issues are to all of us.
Typos? No worries.
Having asked, this isn’t a shortlist. It’s everything that was nominated. English Disco Lovers was my nomination, what was yours Helen, Lord Greaves?
That’s absolutely right, Jennie. And it’s not as though I didn’t plaster the site with reminders of the categories and how to nominate. All the nominations came to me and everything that was nominated got on the shortlist. What would you have nominated?
