Apologies to our commenters

We seem to have had a technical glitch on Lib Dem Voice this week. All comments were being put into moderation, which must have been as frustrating for our readers as it was for us on the the editorial team.

I’m pleased to report that the problem has now been fixed, so you normally won’t have to wait to see your comment published.

There are two exceptions to this, of course.

Some comments contain trigger words which place a comment into the pending folder for manual approval.
Sometimes we set up posts deliberately with pre-moderation of comments. We do this when the subject is sensitive and may attract trolls.

These two processes are designed to make our blog a safe place for commenters and to encourage decent and courteous debate on political issues. As you know that is pretty rare elsewhere on the web.

@Jenny Barnes – you will see that your comment under this post was published immediately.
You had also commented under another post which stated “This post has pre moderation enabled, please be patient whilst waiting for it to be manually reviewed. Liberal Democrat Voice is made up of volunteers who keep the site running in their free time.” That one was placed in moderation and has now been approved.
The problem has been fixed, I can assure you.

I now need to see if I can add italics or bold to text as other people have done, though it’d help if there were buttons for those who are less HTML savvy.
