Liberal Democrats receive Queen’s Birthday Honours

Graham Watson, Liberal Democrat MEP for South West England and Gibraltar, has received a knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2011.

He’s listed under Knights Bachelor – Knighthoods:

  • Jonathan Webber, Chair of Wolverhampton South West and the West Midlands Region, has been awarded a MBE for services to Business.
  • Cllr Terry Stacy receives the MBE for services to Housing in London. Terry was leader of Islington Council 09-10 and is leader of the opposition.
  • Lady Judith Steel receives the MBE for services to the Theatre in the Scottish Borders
  • Joe Roper, recently retires District Councillor for Blaby South is awarded the MBE for services to the community.
  • Richard Kemp, Liverpool Councillor and Vice Chairman of the Local Government Association receives a CBE for public service
  • Councillor Edward Lord receives an OBE, for public service
  • Jill Shortland, former leader of Somerset County Council receives an OBE for services to Local Government in Somerset
  • Joe Roper, recently retired District Councillor for Blaby South, was awarded an MBE for services to the Community
