Please, please, could you just make this the last time you use the wrong logo for the Liberal Democrats?
In case you are in any doubt – the logo you keep on using is WRONG. As in, it is NOT THE RIGHT ONE. I mean, even [insert trashy tabloid newspaper of choice that you most wish to look down your nose at] manages to get it right whilst the Guardian gets it WRONG. Again and again – even though you’ve managed to switch to using the new Labour and Tory logos.
PS Could you use the right one next time? Please?

Looks to me as though they still have the old New Labour logo, no?
I’ve even written to them. I am going to start finding excuses to use the old Guardian masthead.
I have a suspicion that the Guardian journalists derive some kind of sick sadistic pleasure from irritating Lib Dems with these little mistakes. Besides, Grauniad has a reputation to maintain, so it has to maks some mistakes.
I happen to know a Guardian sub-editor (quit laughing at the back!). I’ll raise it with him.
Erm, isn’t it the one that appears on the party website?!
No.
Edward, take a closer look and compare them.
Or we could just tell him. The logo was re-jigged some years back to make the bird fatter. No doubt the Guardian (and sometimes the BBC) still use the ‘old’ logo because a man in the street wouldn’t notice the difference. Labour, use some sort of rose. Lib Dem, use some sort of bird.
It was re-jigged at the change of leader from Paddy to CK.
None of the three logos is verbatim official. They are all fully or party redrawn I think. Impressionistic and good enough.
Not so Chris – the Guardian have used the old logo. But do carry on batting for the Guardian’s graphic department. It makes a chance from your other favourite hobby horses 🙂
Maybe we can offer a deal. They can keep using the old logo provided they don’t print another dull, self-righteous article by George Monbiot.
I still can’t tell any real difference!
2. Duncan, don’t they still use the old masthead on the website anyway? Or were you referring to the one that says “Manchester Guardian”?
There is a poll out in tomorrow’s Guardian, I think. What is the chance the logo is right?
The “real” difference is to look at the way the tail feathers connect with the body
Today’s Sunday Times also has the pre-Charles Kennedy Bird.
Looks like the bird has been corrected on the above link.
