Taegan Goddard’s Political Wire brings us this gem of a quote from President-elect Obama:
“Well, the truth is, Brian, we can’t solve global warming because I fucking changed light bulbs in my house.”
— Sen. Barack Obama, quoted in Newsweek’s special election issue, during debate preparations on how he wanted to answer if Brian Williams asked him, “What’s a personal thing that you’ve done that’s green.”
If even Barack Obama didn’t feel he could get away with saying that, The Voice guesses there wasn’t a cat in hell’s chance of Ming Campbell succeeding.

Never mind that fricking hearsay people.
What about the Lib Dem problem that is Cyril Smith. Although this is essentially a matter of appalling judgement from an individual who was at one stage a Labour Party member – before leaving under a veritable flock of clouds and becoming an extraordinarily bitter and twisted deserter – but Rochdale Lib Dems and indeed Lib Dems more widely have venerated this very faulty character. For whom asbestos apology is certainly not the only major mistake or character flaw.
What should the Lib Dems do now with Cyril? And with his toxic current day acolytes in a town that sorely needs competent governance and representation above persistent dirty shenanigans.
Has the Chris “I’m not a disturbed obsessive, honest” Paul scratched record changed from John Leech to Cyril Smith or something?
If Cyril Smith had an inappropriate relationship with a local business (even a quarter of a century ago) then that may have been wrong. Whether that is something which should be of particular concern to Lib Dem members today is another matter.
And, of course, nobody in the Labour Party has ever been guilty of anything of that nature.
Perhaps I should pester Labour-leaning websites with a blitz of criticism re Diego Garcia ?
