The Voice is only a success because of the interest and support from our readers. For many people just lurking and reading the site is all they want to do – and that’s fine, we’re grateful for people taking the time to read the site.
You can though help us continue to produce interesting content for a growing audience. Here are four simple ways:
1. Let us have your tips for stories. Perhaps there’s something outrageous going on in your local council? Or you’re an expert in a particular area and have spotted a story other people have missed? Or you’ve seen some news no-one else is mentioning? Just drop us an email at [email protected].
2. Share our content with other people. Like a story you see on the site? If so, please let your friends know about it. Whether it is by sharing it on Facebook, sending a tweet, adding a link from your blog, saving it on a social networking site or anything else – the more people share good stories, the wider the audience they reach.
3. Donate. We keep our costs to a minimum, but our hosting costs have gone up as our traffic has grown, and any additional funds beyond that can go on better Conference activities and more internet advertising to promote our site and stories.
4. Shop at Amazon via our affiliate link and help raise funds another way – but without costing you anything extra.
The site’s success is down to far more than just The Voice’s team. Readers like yourself are a keep part of our success. If you’re already doing any of these four – many thanks. And if not, why not try one of them this month?

“Shop at Amazon ”
Fine. Yesterday I remembered that I’d told Lembit I’d buy his book, and had a memory that I could use a link on the LDV site (and the main LD site) to go to Amazon to fullfil this promise. Couldn’t find either. Had to use my normal way in to my Amazon account.
(I presume the LDV link only works with Amazon UK, and not, for instance, with Amazon France.)
Ian, the referrals only work for sales via Amazon.co.uk, we could sign up for FR, DE and COM but then would need to make sure the site sent you to the right one.
There is no need to click on that particular link, any from this site to Amazon will result in referral fees, even if what you buy isn’t the item you first arrived at.
Sorry the Amazon France comment was a bit of digression.
Are you saying that only clicking on a link to a specific book mentioned in a post on LibDem Voice brings me to the Amazon UK site, rather than what I was expecting – that I could find a link elsewhere on the page to go there?
Ian: Not quite sure I’ve understood the question, but here goes… If you click on a link to Amazon from any of our posts, then all the items you purchase during that visit earn the site a payment. Even if, for example, you click on a link in a book review post that takes you to that book on Amazon, but you then instead end up buying a different book.
If you just want to visit Amazon unprompted by a specific story and link on our site, but want to visit it in a way that earns LDV commission, then click on the Amazon link in one of these “How you can help” posts or bookmark this link to use: http://www.amazon.co.uk/?_encoding=UTF8&tag=libedemovoic-21
Hope that helps!
