Brent Central Liberal Democrats have selected Ibrahim Taguri as their successor to Sarah Teather to stand at thee 2015 General Election.
Ibrahim born in Brent, grew up in Willesden Green and has spent many years working in the charitable sector.
Ibrahim said,
I’m delighted to have won the backing of local party members. I am determined to carry in Sarah Teather’s excellent legacy as Brent’s local MP, fighting for better schools and more jobs locally. I’ve already been talking to local people about the issues that matter to them most and how let down they feel about Brent Labour wasting their money on parties, pay-offs and expensive gimmicks instead of providing quality local services.
Commenting on tonight’s announcement, Sarah Teather MP said,
I am so pleased that Ibrahim has been selected. I know that he will stand up for Brent and work hard to gain people’s trust.
I am looking forward to working alongside Ibrahim to make sure that Brent Central has a Liberal Democrat MP beyond 2015.

I hope I am not the only one to wish Sarah all the best. She has been a fantastic representative for our party and I am really sad to see her step down.
I also want to wish Ibrahim all the best with his campaign.
I am delighted that Ibrahim has been selected and I will support him in any way possible. My mother grew up in Harlesden and I visited my grandmother in Leghorn Road (by trolleybus from Wembley) from my earliest years. Labour’s dismal record in Brent is an open book – or rather, a closed one. I have book-loving friends in the borough who are former Labour supporters.
