It’s that time of year again when members decide who should be in line for an award at Conference.
It could be someone who has worked tirelessly in their local area to elect Liberal Democrats or implement our policies or someone who has given years to our cause by working hard as councillors or candidates.
Maybe a political assistant to a councillor or someone who has supported a local MP in the hard work that they do.
Perhaps even a local party who has worked to increase the representation of women, LGBT people and ethnic minorities in everything they do.
This is your chance to let me know who we should be rewarding. Click here for more information on how to nominate. You can download the nomination pack here.
You have until 22nd August to get in touch and nominate a Party member you know who has given a huge amount to the Party.
This is a great chance to make sure our ordinary members are recognised for all the fantastic work they have done for the Party.
* Tim Farron is Liberal Democrat Spokesperson on Agriculture and MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale.

There should be an award for the two (or is it three?) people whose strenuous efforts have led to three (or is it four?) local parties asking for a leadership election. I mean, without them … erm …

Yes, obviously much better for the party to continue steadily on its present path …
I think we need some comedic awards to lighten the mood:
Best political pun on Social Media/in the Media.
Best raffle/tombola prize at a Party event.
Most impressive sandals (beard would be sexist).
Best pointing at casework photo.
Best disappointed with the Tories/Labour face in a casework photo.
Best photo of a limb in a pothole.
I’m sure there are more…
Am I alone in thinking that the woman depicted in the photo with Tim passes for an older version of Caroline Lucas?
Tell Sid (Cumberland): Ten months before the 1987 election, many SDP members were making silly supercilious remarks about the indestructibility of Dr David Owen, just as you are remarking on the indestructibility of Nick Clegg.
Ten months later, we had a lousy election result, and the SDP got rid of Owen. It was too late, of course (though mind you, in those days we thought 23% was a lousy result, since we knew perfectly well that we had Labour on the ropes, and would have replaced them as Britain’s second party, if Owen hadn’t made a pig’s ear of our own campaign).
If we leave it another ten months to get rid of Clegg, we will again have left it too late. And this time, we won’t get 23%.
David Allen: I’d be interested to see where you think I remarked on the indestructibility of Nick Clegg …
Sid, I’d be interested to see if you know how to make a posting that contains rational argument…
