  • You don’t seriously think you’ll win this seat do you? Come on, after how you’ve bowed down before the one you serve, no end of videos is going to win you this seat.

  • Anthony is right. We’re not going to win this.

Still a strong supporter of the coalition though.

  • Depends how Labour behave – if they sack the agent and literature writers who were as responsible for the racism as Woolas, and start fresh with a new credible candidate, they’ll probably win by whipping up lots of anti government anger. If they dither too much with the candidate and if the local party don’t distance themselves from the racism, they’ll be tarred with that brush for good.

Also depends on how well the soft conservatives are squeezed, and how well the Tories fight the seat. They’re not far behind and this could be a 3 way contest.

  • Rest assured – we are in a great position to win this seat – from the canvassing I have done – the Lib Dem vote is holding up really well – a trickle to Labour – the Labour vote is as strong as before – BUT the key is the Tory vote and there is no doubt this is coming over to the Lib Dems – and there is a lot to squeeze – The tories want to keep 1st past the post – so they can hardly quibble when their supporters vote tactically to keep labour out. This election will not be won on leaflets – it is the canvassing face to face that will swing it – literally. Please do your upmost to get there and canvass – Elwyn is a top candidate and deserves the whole party to get there and help. Just think what it will do for all of us if he wins……..
