Liberal Youth seek Communications Officer and Membership Officer – apply by 5 pm tomorrow

Last week all members of the party under 26 for whom we have email addresses were invited to stand for the posts of  Communications Officer and Membership Officer. The closing date is tomorrow, 21st November, at 5pm. Again, I am Returning Officer for this contest.

This is what the email said:

The comms officer responsible for:

• Promoting the organisation and it’s objectives in the media

• Communicating with the membership

• Producing and developing communications channels

• Maintaining the Liberal Youth Website

• Other avenues of communication as required

Membership Officer

• Identifying and supporting the training needs of members

• Recruiting new members

• Planning content for national Liberal Youth training events
If you wish to stand for either of these positions please email your nomination, to me at [email protected] by 5pm on Thursday 21st November. Any nominations received after this time will not be accepted. Your nomination must include:

I must also receive, by the close of nominations, from each candidate, a manifesto no larger than one side of A5, either as a PDF or word format.  This may include any artwork you wish but if it contains any endorsements must be accompanied by written verification of the individual providing the endorsement.  Two people may stand jointly for a job share for any of these roles. For more details please see the LY constitution or contact me.

These by-elections will be held by electronic voting alone. No postal ballot papers will be sent out. It’s therefore really important that you make sure we have an email address for you. If you want to give or change your email address, please email [email protected] by 5pm on Thursday 21st November.

The electronic ballot will be set up shortly thereafter. You will receive further information about how to vote and view the candidates’ statements in due course.

If you have any questions about the election process please email me at [email protected]
