Major funding boost for ALDC

aldc-logoWe’ve just heard the excellent news that the Association of Liberal Democrats Campaigners and Councillors (ALDC) has been awarded £480,000 from the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust Ltd (JRRT) .

The funding will be over five years and will expand ALDC’s team of Development Officers. They are the people who travel around the country to help local parties.

We’ve received comments from two Tims.

First Cllr Tim Pickstone, Chief Exec of ALDC:

This is really good news. ALDC’s only priority is for us to win more local elections, and this funding will mean that we are able to work at a local and regional level, and continue to play a leading role in the regrowth of the Lib Dems across the country. All of us at ALDC want to say a huge thank you to JRRT for their continued support.

and from Tim Farron:

I would like to thank the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust for their support. There is much work for the Party to do and, linked in to our overall plans to grow capacity and rebuild electoral success, this funding can make a real difference to our fightback.

If your local party would welcome some help with campaigning then please contact ALDC on [email protected].

And watch out for an ad for a new Development Officer.

Wonderful news, something positive and constructive for the party after a rough year. Let us hope this translates to more seat gains and a return to form.
