“I want us to do even more to encourage the risk takers”
Mansion House speech to the City of London, 17 June 2004
(It’s a close run thing between this one from a few years back, directed at Paddy Ashdown about Labour and Liberal Democrat economic policies: “You lot were right.”)

Great find Mark. Gordon Brown’s recent Damascene conversion in his entire economic policy needs to be exposed for the publicity-driven fraud that it is. It was HIM who opposed and blocked moves to reign in the insanity of the last 5 years.
Shame there’s no link to share the context with us.
This is like one of those film quotes …
“Absolutely heavenly” (if you like vacuous sub-Opik nonsense)
Did he say “prudence” or “sensible” or “responsible” within the same sentence or one sentence either side?
I’ve not checked. Yet.
This is in context, right after he praised himself for cutting the capital gains tax from 40 pence to 10 pence to help them realise their talents… …and no doubt an increased bank balance.
