An email arrives at the Voice from Danny Alexander MP reminding us that a one-day conference is imminent.
Danny helpfully reminds us that registration forms and an agenda for the day are available on the party website.
The purpose of the day is help set our next manifesto. Sessions are set aside to discuss all manner of things – but if you want to attend you will need to hurry with registration.

I have dropped the hint a few times in emails…
Why have a form on line you have to download print and post. Why not have an online form.
I am hardly ever connected to a printer when looking at this sort of thing. I may have registered if I had been connected to a printer while reading one of the several reminder emails.
This is 2008, you don’t need a piece of paper, ink and a stamp. I understand that you can now read the internet on your mobile phone you know..
Well said Duncan
If there had been an online form I’d have registered a couple of weeks ago, as I’ve had to print the damn thing off, its sat there in my ‘to do’ tray. I may be a Civil Servant but I hate filing in forms with a pen, its tedious and pointless. If we Lib Dems are telling everyone how we should modernise our political structures, we ahould practice what we preach!
‘fraid to say I went to register when I was somewhere without a printer, saw it was a print and send job and decided not to bother. Incidentally, it also seemed very steep for a one day conference!
As one of the people involved in organising this event….Yes, I agree that it would have been good if we could have made arrangements for registering online rather than only via the PDF. However I don’t think potential attendees having to print off a form is quite the complete disaster that some of these comments above seem to imply! It obviously can be slightly less convenient for some people, but if anyone really does want to come, I think they would make the effort to print off a piece of paper.
I also agree with the comment it is more expensive than is ideal. However sadly this is the level it needs to be to cover the costs of the day – we have no external budget from the party for this event, so it has to cover its own costs. Actually this relates to the point about ease of registration too: all the staff and others working on this are doing this on top of their other jobs too. However as I say I do agree fully online registration would be good, and I hope we can achieve this if somethinng similar is organised again in the future.
Incidentally can I re-emphasiase the point in the original post above about needing to register soon: although we have a large hall for it, its capacity is not unlimited and I understand that registration is now close to capacity. So if you want to come, register soon!
