Scratch and sniff: The reek or alluring scent of our values

The medium is the message. So often as people it’s not so much what we do as how we do it, that leaves the greater impression.

The passive aggressive person makes you regret asking even when they help you. So it is important to reflect not just on are we doing the right thing but are we doing it in the best way.

As Liberal Democrats we signed up to three core values Liberty, Equality and Community – how are we building these or indeed communicating these values? The twist is that most people prefer to talk about real things they can see and touch rather than concepts, so grounding our values to make them more accessible might be a plan…

To this end, I commissioned these:

Liberty No1

The smell of sweet dissent, from the United Kingdom.

Apply Liberally and Democratically for best evidence based results.

Marketing:
“Poor Hom and pour Her and paw They”
“Ardour love through liberty…”

Equality No2

Immerse yourself in Equality, it’s for everyone!

Equality of access to justice.

Equality under the law.

Although made with Eau de Farron, no Farrons were harmed in the making of this!

Community No3

Working together so we smell less of selfishness…

Liberty only smells good if blended with Equality and Community. Then you can “splash it on all over” for best effects.

I hope these made you smile or think as a different perspective, and a moment of reflection, that will help us adjust our course to get to a better outcome.

Let’s keep our dissent sweet for the sake of everyone in our diverse community, and enjoy our liberty.

  • Core value liberty? On the day the Carlile is again calling for massive surveillance of all personal communications to be introduced without any scrutiny?

  • “Although made with Eau de Farron, no Farrons were harmed in the making of this!”

Not sure I want to know what’s in eau de Farron LOL
Thanks Mike, I think the laugh this gave me was probably necessary

  • I am a Liberal, so I agree to disagree with Lord Carlile on civil liberties. Imposing a Snoopers charter tax hike on the cost of accessing the internet will not be popular.

Jennie glad to make you laugh!

  • There must be a good market for these perfumes in China although with Carlile’s charter who will know the difference between China and Britain.
