#SelfEU: the way to win a day with ALDE’s Guy Verhofstadt*

Guy VerhofstadtYes, the #selfEU is actually a thing, as ALDE’s Guy Verhofstadt promotes his campaign to become the next President of the European Commission:

THE ONE AND ONLY “SELF-EU” CONTEST
It’s simple, just send us an EU selfie or a #selfEU, and you could win a day with Guy Verhofstadt.

The EU is about more than rules and regulations. Show us your favourite thing about the EU. Did you just board an airplane on a cheap flight, cross a border without having to use your passport or change currencies, or move to study or work abroad in the EU?

Or else your selfie could be critical of the European Union: where is it meddling where it shouldn’t, or where is it failing to intervene when it should?

Just put it on your instagram or twitter profile and tag it with #selfEU

The best “self-EU” will then win a day with Guy!

At least one Lib Dem has taken Guy at his word – so good luck to Hannah Bettsworth, Lib Dem president of Edinburgh’s Liberal Youth:

* yeah, yeah: second prize is two days with Guy Verhofstadt.

  • ” cross a border without having to use your passport….?”

That would be nice. How about the libdems making it policy for us to join Schengen so British people can do this?

Jo Swinson won’t like this competition at all. New research suggests that selfies have a worse effect on body image than pictures of models and celebrities :-

  • “Guy looks like a lot of fun to spend the day with – judging from the picture!”

To be fair he had just come out of a meeting with Angela Merkel.
