Top of the Blogs: The Golden Dozen #79

It’s my turn to collate the 79th of our weekly round-ups (17th – 23rd August) of the seven most popular click-throughs from LibDemBlogs, plus another five that you might have missed. My, that came around again quickly this week.

Let’s get straight down to it, in traditional descending order:

1 You’re asking me? Jo’s reaction to a letter from an MP asking her to become an MP.

2 An alternative view of the Olympics I wonder how many people clicking on Peter Black’s headline were expecting his usual insight rather a graphic that was doing the rounds? (I still prefer the EU version that this table is a reaction to)

3 Nasty party after all… James Graham is not impressed with a widely quoted remark from David Cameron.

4 Charles Kennedy or Paddy Ashdown for Party President? I think I can see why many of you might have clicked on that. I don’t think the Sunday Times is really paying attention.

5 The Perils of Lib Dem Seat targetting The Yorkshire Gob mouths off about targetting, and sparks a lively discussion.

6 My Lib Dem Boyfriend! Yay! Jo’s second bite at the cherry this week.

7 I’m a Meek Anarchist Bridget Fox doesn’t like what she sees on Channel 4 and is also a dab hand with the old anagram.

And now the bit where I actually have to think instead of copying and pasting from the stat-generator…

8 Opinion about Bones? FCC give you only 2 mins to say it Just how will the Bones debate work at Conference?

9 More bone-headed nonsense from Johan Hari Liberal Polemic hardly minces his words.

10 £7,000, £90,000 – hardly a level playing field, Zac Mary Reid muses on money in politics.

11 Put your entry on Who’s Who in the Lib Dems Online…now!! (please) Jo Christie-Smith kicks off work for the PCA‘s new edition of Who’s Who.

12 Confessions of the World’s Worst Campaigner It’s really not that bad. And the conclusion of the piece in the final paragraph is spot on:

Finally, honest to goodness solid hard work on the ground is what really decides between success and failure. There’s no short cuts, no cheats, no clever slogans or fancy designs that can change this.
