There appear to be even fewer of the team around this week – they’ve obviously taken David Allen’s advice to take a holiday to heart – so I’ve been asked to do another turn whilst things are quiet. So, whilst I attempt the editorial equivalent of propping corpses up against the battlements in attempt to fool the Tuaregs into believing that the fort is better defended than it might be, let’s see what I hope to cover today…
- Shirley Williams expresses her view on Europe’s duty to Gaza
- Andi Ali suggests some concrete action on Gaza for Her Majesty’s Government
- there is news of the next ALDE Congress
And, you never know, something might happen during the day that sparks an article.
In the meantime, I hope that the remnants of Hurricane Bertha aren’t disrupting your day too badly, and welcome you to another beautiful day, here at LDV Towers…

Have a pleasant, peaceful one!
“Yes, it’s me again, I’m afraid. And after last week’s controversy over an article that never did get resubmitted by its author”
The controversy wasn’t about the article, it was about the editorial policy you outlined in the article.
