The explosion was caused how exactly.. a bomb ? If so type etc. ?
What’ll his defence be if he ends up in court ?
It’s all Labour’s fault ?
A record of action, a promise of more?
@SaveCleggHe’sInMess “What’ll his defence be if he ends up in court ? It’s all Labour’s fault ?”
Or that he successfully prevented the Tories from creating an even larger explosion?
VAT bombshell anybody?
Whats the word for people who make silly jokes about bombs, days after Boston ?
I’d heard the party was bombing in the polls, but I didn’t expect this.
@Paul Barker
I give up, what is the word for people who make silly jokes about bombs days after Boston ?
You’re obviously not a Liberal who believes in free speech then ?
Well, Paul, they’d all be arrested by now if we are in America – the land of the free, where they have all lost their sense of humour!!
@paul barker “Whats the word for people who make silly jokes about bombs, days after Boston ?”
Bombs and explosions kill people around the world on a weekly if not daily basis. Was it wrong for our party to use the image of a bomb to make a point about Tory tax plans in an election campaign while civilians were dying in Iraq or is it only in poor taste when the victims are Americans and Britons?
Jokes about bombs are offensive if they might possibly be taken to indicate a real threat, or, if they refer to an event where people have actually been hurt. Not otherwise. (Loud groans due to the poor quality of the humour are, however, not unreasonable!)
@Peter Watson, as a general rule I am against the use of violent imagery, it helps make actual violence easier. No one ever had their legs blown off by a Tax Rise.
On the actual case, charges have been made & bail refused so unless The Police are massively overeacting this is a serious case, presumably involving a genuine risk of harm. I know nothing about the details & if anyone else knows anything they are (quite rightly) saying nothing. We should all wait to see what all this about.
