Dear Friend,
With 100 days until the referendum, Liberal Democrats have a golden opportunity to loudly state our case for home rule for Scotland in a federal United Kingdom.
We know that the majority of people believe Scotland has the best of both worlds as part of the UK family. They also agree with our liberal message that Scotland benefits from a strong Scottish Parliament which shapes its own domestic agenda on matters like health and education whilst working across the UK family to boost jobs and growth.
Our MPs, MSPs, councillors and activists around the country are leading the campaign to keep Scotland part of the UK in their local areas. But we need your help to reach as many people as possible between now and referendum day on September 18th.
We need to make sure that people hear our message over the summer months. I need you to get out and make our positive, sunshine case for a stronger Scotland which works together as part of the UK.
We can have confidence that ours is a message which offers a plan for the future and a celebration of the past. This stands in stark contrast with those who refuse to accept that the UK family can offer Scotland any good. We will make the strong and confident case for the best of both worlds for Scotland.
Over the next hundred days, Liberal Democrats around Scotland will be knocking doors, calling voters and delivering leaflets to help keep us part of a strong UK family. To find out how you can get involved, simply reply to this email.Thank you for your support. You are helping make a real difference.
Best wishes,
Willie Rennie MSP

As a liberal, living south of the border but with a large Scots family, I find the LD determination to oppose self determination as perplexing as it is disappointing.
Bad timing, Willie!
You have suggested the party adopt a “sunshine” approach to the campaign just as “Better Together” change their slogan to the negative “No Thanks”.
Sorry Willie, down here in London we are too busy making a positive , sunshiney case for a stronger Liberal Democrats without the most unpopular leader since records began. You have your own problems in Scotland for the rest of us Liberal Democrats in the Rest of the UK we have one main problem, we need a leadership election. At least we would have a vote in that, we have no vote in your referendum. And (I suppose we should whisper this) some of us think Scotland and England and Wales and Northern Ireland and the rest of the world would be better off if you opted for Independence.
How many members have we in Scotland these days or is that a naughty question.
If we stay one country how many seats will we hold in Scotland, maybe only Kennedy’s.
But does anyone in the party establishment care?
